The Penn State football program’s busy summer continued Wednesday when the Nittany Lions added Wyoming Valley West wideout Eugene Lewis to their 2012 recruiting class.
The Times Leader of Wilkes-Barre reported on its website that the 6-1, 180-pound Lewis gave PSU a verbal commitment while on a Wednesday visit to State College. He was also considering Maryland and Virginia Tech.
“It’s a big relief,” Lewis said. “I’m happy with my decision. I’ve been thinking about doing it for a while. I wanted to get it over with now so that I can focus on the season.”
Rivals ranks Lewis as the No. 23 wide receiver in the country and the 162nd player overall.
