The Cincinnati Bengals face off against the Houston Texans in Texas. The Bengals are one of the back in teams while the Texans won their division weeks ago. Both teams are young and this is a new place for them to be.
The Bengals have a rookie QB in Andy Dalton who has kept them in the hunt all season long. He has played well beyond his rookie abilities and more than a few people are shocked by his performance this season. He has a great complement of receivers including Jerome Simpson and AJ Green. Dalton has been ill this week, so ill he couldn’t practice earlier in the week but has since returned. It remains to be seen if there are any lingering effects from his illness come game time today.
The Texans have of course suffered with injury to some of their main players all throughout the season. They went through 2 QBs ending the season with the third TJ Yates. Their main receiver Andre Johnson and their running back Arian Foster have been injured for a large part of the season off and on. The Texans made it through their division with willpower and lack of strong opponents. It remains to be seen how far that can take them in the playoffs.
The Texans QB Yates is sore but he will play. The Bengals QB Dalton is back playing after illness but he could still be weakened. The outcome of this game might be who can stand their ailments long enough to come away with the win. At this time of the season, there are usually a lot of injuries affecting teams and in the playoffs you just have to play through it. The winners are generally those who can have the willpower and ability to just push through. That may be what determines the outcome of this game.
