If you’re the Giants, you seem to have an affinity for Lambeau Field. It makes you play well in the playoffs. The Packers, really, should have won this game easily, but they stopped playing well at the wrong time. I honestly thought that the Pariots would be the number one seed most likely to miss the Super Bowl. Now, I see I was wrong.
The Giants are on a tear. They are doing exactly what they did the last time they won the Super Bowl. They are getting hot late.
Now, they have handed the 49ers a home conference title game. That’s pretty awesome if you’re a 49er fan, and it doesn’t much matter to the Giants. As a 49er fan, I am scared of the Giants. There’s no point in denying it, but perhaps this is actually all part of a serendipitous plan to put San Fran in the Super Bowl.
The 49ers are going to have every opportunity to win the NFC title game next week. They really are. They will be at home, they will be on a roll having just beat the Saints, and now they get a team that didn’t get any pressure from the previous two defenses they played in the playoffs. The 49ers defense is better than the Packers and the Falcons defenses combined.
With all that said, the Giants are hot, and, if they were to beat my beloved 49ers in the NFC title game, I would be able to handle it because at least it’s the Giants. I can respect them, and I have a hard time arguing with how they dismantled the Packers yesterday. There’s just no other way to put it. They kicked their butts handily.
Who saw that one coming? Not me.
Now, it’s merely a question of who we trust more. Niners or Giants?
