The concerns I had about my fantasy football team after the draft, were justified after a disappointing week one of the season.
I started Matthew Stafford, Jeremy Hill, Justin Forsett, Andre Johnson, Emmanuel Sanders, Owen Daniels and Mason Crosby. While my taxi squad was Yay Cutler, DeAngelo Williams, Joseph Randle, Alshon Jeffery, Jarvis Landry, Heath Miller and Matt Bryant.
That meant I left on the bench 49ers RB Carlos Hyde who had a monster game against the Vikings. That was my first mistake.
Disappointing performances by Bradford, Forsett, Johnson and Daniels really hurt. Stafford’s numbers of 19-30, 246 yds, 2 TDs, 2 Int were heavily impacted by two drives when the game was over and San Diego was in the prevent defense.
I expected Johnson to be more effective for the Colts since TY Hilton would get most of the coverage. Andrew Luck looked at him enough (10 targets) but the 4 catches for 24 yards will not do.
I also expected Peyton Manning to target Ownen Daniels more than twice in the game.
As expected an opening week loss then in fantasy football. Hopefully the matchups will be better this week and I can get my first win of the season!
