Where Do We Go From Here?

The Super Bowl is over, they played the Pro Bowl–stupidly–before the Super Bowl and now we don’t have anything to do!  (Just kidding)

The NFL season rolls right along with free-agency, the combine, the draft, and a premilinary look at how the league will shake out next year.  The plan is to highlight every team in the league and their prospects for next year.  Highlight every major player in the Indianapolis combine, all the guys who miss it, and all the guys who shouldn’t be drafted as high as people say.

Some teams in the NFL have new coaches, new management, and new stars.  Some teams are praying for new stars, and others are looking to make some moves.

The league is hoping there isn’t a work stoppage after 2011, and the Commissioner already knows he looks just as stupid as DeMaurice Smith.

The players want to make money, but some of them don’t want to honor older players.  Mike Ditka’s STILL working on that.

So, since there’s alot to talk about let’s start with an obvious candidate with obvious potential…The Saints.

The Saints won the Super Bowl in runaway fashion after falling behind early (and a nasty move that Joseph Addai put on Darren Sharper that made Sharper look like he was 50).

The Saints can “rinse and repeat” this success over and over.  I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t be the favorites to win the NFC South and, at least, go back to the NFC Title Game.

Because Sean Payton has so much in his “bag of tricks” it is conceivable that he could have a completely new look ready for next season that will not allow anyone to fully grasp their offense.

In fact, if their success is continued when Drew Brees retires it’s because Sean Payton will rework the entire offense to “re-confuse” everybody.

They’re the prohibitive favorites and they know it.
