What misperception? That you two are idiots?

Jim Irsay and Peyton Manning talked–about what I don’t know.  How do you have this conversation?  Do you just agree that you’re both acting like complete freaking idiots and move on with your day?  You certainly don’t end a talk like that with hugs and kisses.  I can’t even imagine what you would say to begin the conversation?  Sorry I ended your career?  Sorry I gave you everything and more and now you’re pushing me out with everyone else who was with this team for so long?

The Colts issued a statement about the talk that said:

“We would like to dispel any misperception that there might be any hard feelings between us.  Since 1998, we have enjoyed a great relationship, based upon mutual respect and trust. We have always been able to talk and address matters we’ve faced over the years, not just as owner and player, but as friends.”

“We had a long talk today and we want to assure Colts fans everywhere that we are both committed to maintaining our close relationship and to working together through any challenges the future may bring.”

Well, that’s some serious poppycock and balderdash right there.  First off, of course there are hard feelings.  How could there not be?  That’s just false on the face of it.

Frankly, we don’t care if you’re going to be able to maintain a close personal relationship because that doesn’t win the Colts football games now does it?

Finally, I seriously doubt that you guys were able to talk this out since the pooch was screwed way back when Irsay said he’d take Andrew Luck.  There’s really no coming back from that when the guy you’re replacing is a first ballot, should go in today, hall of famer.

Let’s be real.  This marriage is over and it’s going to end badly.  Don’t lie to us.
