It always takes me a few weeks to get into the right rhythm to make picks, but this year has been pretty ridiculous. I’ve been surprised every week by teams, and I’m sure Week 3 will be no different. I’m mean… the Cowboys starting 0-2? The Vikings 0-2? Really?
Here are my picks for the upcoming weekend:
San Francisco 49ers vs Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are 2-0, the 49rs 0-2. To me, this makes them have a slight edge because they are hungry and desperate to win. Plus, I’m not sure the Chiefs should really be 0-2.
Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings
There are some that are actually believe that the Lions are going to beat the Vikings. Now, don’t get me wrong, the Lions are going to be a good team this year, but so are the Vikings. People are counting out Favre and the injuries have bad, but there is no way the Vikes are going to fall to the Lions. No way.
Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots
I was very undecided about this game, and then I read a stat on NFL.com that said, “The Patriots have beaten the Bills 13 consecutive times. … New England QB Tom Brady has won 21 consecutive home games.” I’m all about streaks that end.
Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Saints
This might be a crazy pick for me, but after having a short week, I think the Saints are tired. After having two terrific games to start the season, I think they are tired. The Saints have a history of kicking the Falcons up and down the playing field, but I think this time the Falcons will kick right back.
Tennessee Titans vs NY Giants
I really think this is going to be a tight game. I’m not too wowed by either of these teams. But the Giants are home and I give them the edge for that.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Everyone is picking the Steelers in this case, and I’ll admit that I have underestimated them. And I’m going to do it again this week.
Cincinnati Bengals vs Carolina Panthers
The T.O. and Ochocinco show will rule this day.
Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore Ravens
This pick makes me nervous, but the Browns need this win, and that might be enough to give them the edge.
Dallas Cowboys vs Houston Texans
The Texans are on fire now, but when two Texas teams get together, the advantage goes to Dallas.
Philadelphia Eagles vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Vick and the Eagles have the edge in this one.
Washington Redskins vs St. Louis Rams
NFL.com gives the best storyline ever for this one: “The Redskins finally play on the road and get a team that has lost 27 of its last 28 games.”
Indianapolis Colts vs Denver Broncos
The Colts started a bit shaky but their win over the Giants last week has given them confidence.
Oakland Raiders vs Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are a much better team that they show, but they will show that this weekend.
San Diego Chargers vs Seattle Seahawks
Every week I get the Seahawks wrong. I might this week too. Who knows.
NY Jets vs Miami Dolphins
I’m still confused about the Jets, but I do know the Dolphins are a great team.
Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears
My gawd, am I really going to pick the Bears? I’m a Packer fan, but I think the Bears have the edge in this one.
