In the NFL, Brett Favre is once again the top story. Will he play this weekend? Will his consecutive games streak end? What about the Jen Sterger investigation now in the hands of Roger Goodell? Can Favre stay in the drama spotlight until the end of the season?
Brett Favre has allegedly had a lot of trouble throwing the ball this week. He has allegedly practiced little to none. Of course, I say allegedly because I believe that anything that comes out of Favre’s and the Vikings mouths is subject to speculation. Favre has an insatiable need to be in the spotlight and this is just another way to do it. I do believe that Favre will play on Sunday even if it is to start the game and then sit down after. He will do whatever he has to do to keep his streak intact. To make himself headline news on Sunday when he takes the field yet again.
But then we have the whole Jen Sterger drama. Roger Goodell now has the case to decide what to do about it. Word has it that Sterger has said she will not go further with any kind of legal action against Favre or the NFL if the NFL punishes Favre for what he did. Well let me tell you something, Goodell is not going to suspend Favre if it looks like he’s going to play. He is not about to take away Favre’s streak with 4 games left. So suspension is out of the question. That leaves monetary punishment. Goodell could hand down a steep fine to Favre for the whole Sterger drama. But will this satisfy Ms. Sterger? That remains to be seen. If I were a betting woman I would say that nothing will happen outside of maybe a fine for the last 4 weeks of the season and as soon as Favre retires Sterger will hit him and the NFL with a lawsuit. Some would say a fitting end to Favre’s drama of a year.
Favre will start on Sunday. Not sure if he plays the whole game, but he will start. The NFL will not suspend him and end his streak. And the Favre drama will continue the rest of the season….now that I would bet on.
