With Mike Wallace Back In Pittsburgh And Wide Receivers Take Front Page

Mike Wallace finally reported to the Pittsburgh Steelers Training Facility and  just in time for him not to take part in ANY preseason games.   The Season is really just starting, and the new CBA has turned the preseason and training camps into a sham.

I am not a football player, so I am in no way trying to down play the brutality of sport or the need for time off.   I can also say that from my research, players are in better shape now than they have ever been.   And lastly we all know that injuries can happen at any time for any reason.

To The Lions

No, not the Detroit Lions, but actual lions metaphorically speaking.  Tim Tebow to the Jets is akin to throwing the Christian to the lions but it is a trade I get I on several levels.

Internal Combustion

The Jets problems are internal plain and simple.  The reason that they fail is because of the internal combustion that is part of the team on a daily basis.

The Jets have the on the field personnel to get the job done for the most part.  I don’t think Mark Sanchez is ever going to be an elite QB or even a better than average one, but they have receivers, running backs, a good defense.  It’s the internal problems that are keeping them out of the playoffs year after year.

Sal Alosi Suspended Indefinitely

More information has now turned up regarding that tripping incident with NY Jets strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi actually “instructed the non-uniformed players to form a human wall on the sideline in the Miami game.” Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum told NFL owners that “players at the Miami game were instructed by Sal to stand where they were to force the gunner in the game to run around them.”

The Jets were concerned that Alosi didn’t bring this up right away when the incident happened. As a result, the Jets have suspended Alosi “indefinitely.”
