Game Report: Colts Cruise in Kansas

The Indianapolis Colts improved to 10-5 on Sunday afternoon after steam-rolling the play0ff-bound Kansas City Chiefs (11-4) at Arrowhead Stadium. Averaging 50 points in their previous two games, the Chiefs started brightly. Forcing Indy into a quick three-and-out on their opening possession, Jamal Charles raced into the endzone from 31 yards out with less than four minutes played. Most would have expected Kansas to take a stranglehold of the contest from there, but the Colts kept their composure and a wonderful individual performance from running back Donald Brown, coupled with a spirited defensive effort saw Indy rack up 23 unanswered points  on their way to a 23-7 victory.

The Indianapolis Colts (9-5) travel to Missouri on Sunday afternoon to face an AFC powerhouse in the form of the Kansas City Chiefs (11-3). After a hugely impressive 9-0 start to the season, the Chiefs  have rebounded from a three-game losing streak with wins over the Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders to earn themselves the joint best record in the conference, a record shared with AFC West rivals, the Denver Broncos.

The Indianapolis Colts fell to 8-5 after a disappointing 42-28 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals (9-4) on Sunday afternoon, with the scoreline flattering another inadequate Colts performance. Despite scoring four touchdowns, Indianapolis failed to score in the entire first half, and much of their scoring in the last two quarters was due to Cincinnati playing soft coverage while protecting a 21-0 lead.

The Indianapolis Colts (8-4) make the short 110-mile trip to Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday afternoon to face a formidable Cincinnati Bengals team (8-4) with playoff spots yet to be finalised. The Colts currently occupy the number 3 seed in the AFC playoff picture and all but secured the AFC South crown with last week’s 22-14 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Cincinnati Bengals are in 4th spot with a two-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North, and with only four games left in the regular season, Sunday’s showdown will go a long way in deciding each team’s final position in the AFC playoff standings.

Game Report: Colts Stumble to Victory Over Titans

“The Iceman” Adam Vinatieri

The Indianapolis Colts improved to 8-4 on Sunday afternoon with an unconvincing 22-14 win over the Tennessee Titans at Lucas Oil Stadium. The victory puts Indy into a commanding three-game lead in the division and provides the much-needed tiebreaker over their AFC South rivals. The Colts need just one more win from their remaining four games to seal top spot, while the fight for AFC playoff seedings rumbles on.

Robert Mathis is 1.5 sacks away from a single-season franchise record

The Indianapolis Colts (7-4) welcome the 5-6 Tennessee Titans to Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday afternoon with the AFC South crown still up for grabs. Following a narrow 30-27 victory over their division rivals in Week 11, the Colts suffered a second blowout of the season, losing 40-11 to the red-hot Arizona Cardinals in Glendale. The Titans fared better in Week 12, rebounding from the loss to Indy with an impressive late victory over the Oakland Raiders, leaving them two games behind the Colts in the race for divisional supremacy.

Old Friends Reunited

The Indianapolis Colts (7-3) travel to Glendale on Sunday afternoon looking to maintain their push for the 2nd seed spot in the AFC play-off picture, while their opponents, the Arizona Cardinals (6-4), have post-season aspirations of their own. Holding the same record as the faltering San Francisco 49ers, the Cards have a legitimate opportunity to beat their NFC West rivals to a wild-card spot, where they will likely join the runners-up of the NFC South division. Arizona head coach Bruce Arians has his team playing hard, and while there will be time for sentiment after the game, there is no question Arians will be fully prepared to knock off  the team he lead to the play-offs last year during Chuck Pagano’s battle with leukemia.

Colts Analysis: The Running Game

Richardson Continues to Struggle

For years the Indianapolis Colts have been regarded as a passing offense, and a very good one at that. Peyton Manning’s 13-year  tenure at quarterback included several record-breaking seasons, with much success stemming from his partnerships with Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark. The new era of Indianapolis, with rookie sensation Andrew Luck started in very similar fashion last year. Luck threw for 433 yards against Miami in Week 9, breaking the record for most yards thrown in a game by a rookie quarterback. His season total finished at 4,374, the most yards thrown by a rookie QB in NFL history.

Game Report: Colts Edge Titans In Comeback Win

Donald Brown Steals The Show

The Indianapolis Colts dug themselves into another hole in Nashville on Thursday night, and once again they managed to scramble out of it to extend their lead atop the AFC South.

Trailing 17-6 at the half, a combination of youth and experience stepped up to ensure the Pagano-led Colts maintained their impressive record of never losing back-to-back regular season games. Second year tight end Coby Fleener had a career day, catching 8 passes for 107 yards from quarterback Andrew Luck, who finished the game 23/36 for 232 yards and ran for a touchdown. Veteran kicker Adam Vinatieri was perfect on the night, converting all three field goal attempts including a crucial 50-yarder in the third quarter, while 5th year running back Donald Brown carried the ball 80 yards and scored two touchdowns, giving offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton something to think about as Trent Richardson continues to struggle.

Game Preview: Colts @ Titans

colts at titansThe Indianapolis Colts travel to Nashville, TN on Thursday night with both teams coming off Week 10 performances they would like to put behind them in a hurry. Indy suffered an embarrassing 38-8 blowout at the hands of the St. Louis Rams, while the Titans became the first team to fall victim to the hapless (and previously win less) Jacksonville Jaguars. With both teams losing last week, the Colts remain two wins ahead in the race for the AFC South crown, but a Titans victory this evening could create a momentum shift within the division.
