Now that the Pro Days are all but over, some NFL hopefuls stocks are on the rise. Let’s take a look at some hot performers and fast risers ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft.
Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama – Richardson had an outstanding Pro Day surprising a lot of people when he ran a 4.8 and had 25 reps on the bench. He made some great catches and looked very comfortable during the entire exercise. He has both quickness and explosive speed as well as the ability to pass protect.
Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M – Tannehill showed some excellent ability on his Pro Day especially with moving to the left in a right hand thrower. He also completed 65 of 68 passes. Tannehill has moved well up the list of hot stocks in the last few days with several teams taking a serious look at him including the Dolphins.
Melvin Ingram, OLB/DE, South Carolina – Ingram can play three positions equally well – defensive end, tackle and linebacker. He was a running back in high school and has wide receiver speed.
Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame – He brought back Jimmy Clausen to throw to him for his Pro Day and did exceptionally well. He had 95 catches last year for 1106 yards but 557 of those yards came AFTER the catch where he is deadly fast. He has very long arms, good jumping and is a definite long range threat.
Stephen Gilmore, CB, South Carolina – Gilmore held fast to his combine times and didn’t run for his Pro Day. He did however look outstanding on his Pro Day. Definitely, a first round pick and likely moving up in value.
Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College – Kuechly had a 4.58 40, benched 25 reps and had a 38 inch vertical. He can play outside or inside. He can tackle in the hole and cover in space. Very athletic.
The NFL Draft is fast approaching and these stocks are definitely hot.
