Big blow to the Penn State offense with the news that wide receiver Derek Moye will miss the next two games with a foot injury.
Moye, who has 28 receptions for 485 yards, slipped on stairs during the week and broke the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot, according to Penn State. Penn State’s Director of Athletic Medicine, Dr. Wayne Sebastianelli, said Moye will not need surgery.
The team said there is a possibility he can be back for the Oct. 29 game against Illinois. Moye was the team’s top receiver and the Nittany Lions will need someone to fill in his place this weekend against Purdue and next week against Northwestern.
Have to say that I will be shocked if Moye is back for the Illinois game at the end of the month. In other sports, a metatarsal injury usually has a 4-6 week recovery period.
