Dallas and Minnesota meet on Sunday for a shot at the NFC Title Game and I am, once again, going to make the “un-sexy” pick. Dallas is going to win this game. Not handily, but they will win this game. Why?
Tony Romo. Tony Romo is on a hot streak the likes of which the Cowboys haven’t seen since Troy Aikman. In fact, if Romo keeps this up he could BE Troy Aikman Jr. Nobody in their right mind thought Dallas was going to start winning playoff games anytime soon because they all thought Romo never got over that botched hold in the playoffs a few years back.
Guess what!? He’s over it now.
Marion Barber runs like an angry lunatic. Miles Austin is a superstar in the making. Demarcus Ware eats O-Lines for breakfast, and the Dallas special teams always makes SOMETHING happen at least once a game. (For my money Joe DeCamillis is the best special teams coach in the league…maybe ever.)
On the other side you’ve got AP, Brett Favre, and Percy Harvin. Here’s the problem: I’ve never said Favre was in a “slump” or anything like that, but the Vikings backed into the playoffs and now Favre gets the ball every offensive snap and we expect him to be perfect? After the last pass he threw as a Packer was an interception AT HOME?
I don’t trust him. Not because I think he’s going to throw 5 INT’s in a game. No, that’s not it. He’ll throw the WRONG interception in this game. The one that closes the door on the Vikings. That’s the one pass I don’t trust from Favre. He’ll have a great game otherwise, but that one pass will kill their season just like it did in Green Bay against the Giants.
