To say it has been a tough couple of years for Donovan McNabb would be an understatement. The former Eagles signal caller has been put through the NFL torture chamber lately. Still, McNabb showed on ESPN Monday night he is still ready, willing and quite possibly, able to perform for another team.
One NFL coach is standing up and singing the praises of McNabb. That coach being McNabb’s former mentor Andy Reid of the Philadelphia Eagles.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has to be looking in the mirror wondering what he did to upset the football Gods. Hall of Fame wide Receiver Art Monk is the latest in a long line of retired players to join in another lawsuit against the league.
We have discussed ad nauseum what Goodell hasn’t done to help those in need who placed the NFL on the map. To make the NFL what it is today for him to become Commissioner with only one goal in mind, the 18 game season.

As soon as Washington made the trade to get the number two pick, which came after Indy making it very clear that they were taking Andrew Luck, RG3 was number one on their depth chart at quarterback. I don’t think this is mystical or mysterious to anybody. I suppose one might call it strange to be so sure so soon, but when you’re the Redskins, you have to take whatever you can get.

You know how it goes in the NFL Draft. You take the best guy on the board. That’s just what you do. If you see value there, you have to draft it. Of course, in the first round, you want to target a specific need, but still, the Redskins need a quarterback and they don’t have the first pick. So, when they start praising RG3 to the sky, I don’t think that we can do anything but assume that they like him (but I think can’t overlook the fact that they might be a little disappointed that they can’t get Andrew Luck.)

Could it be the real mystery in the NFL draft in three weeks is the fourth pick? It seems Andrew Luck is the solid first pick to Indy. Washington spent a fortune for the second pick and Robert Griffin III. Then comes Minnesota and tackle Matt Kalil from USC. That leaves the Cleveland Browns at number 4. Or could there be drama before?
The general consensus is that Minnesota needs help on the offensive line, so the obvious pick would be Kalil, who is the top rated tackle in college football. Yet the injury to Adrian Peterson has many wondering if the Vikings shouldn’t take a running back. That would mean Trent Richardson, who apparently the Browns have their eyes upon.

Donovan McNabb pulled no punches as he described what he thought would happen when RG3 got to Washington (as we presume they will take him with the second pick in the draft.) He doesn’t think it’s going to work because of the fact that the Shanahans run their system and that’s that. They just run their system. That’s just what they do. However, I’m not sure if that’s all that’s there. Sure, the Shanahans run their system, but it’s not just the system–it’s HOW they run the system.

It’s been argued, debated and legislated over the years in the NFL. The “it” is improved player safety in the game. Something Commissioner Roger Goodell is taking a stand on.
His tactics are unmeasured and untried. He seems to be upsetting players, owners and fans alike. Just last week he suspended two coaches for at least one year over purposely paying players to knock opponents out the a game.

Up until Tuesday, it appeared the first three picks of the NFL Draft in April was set in stone. However Tuesday the order of things to come may have changed. Reports have surfaced where the Indianapolis Colts are wavering on the first pick.
Throughout the past two seasons, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck has been the consensus number one pick. Luck would have been the top pick one year ago had he not decided to stay in college for another year of seasoning.

Within the past few weeks we have seen a lot of events happen for this team, and they all couldn’t have come at a worse time. Let’s start with some good news. Drew Brees will be back with the team next year; the Saints put the franchise tag on him. Now for the bad news: Drew Brees was franchised, Carl Nicks and Marques Colston are probably going to leave, and the Saints are being accused of “Bounty gate”.

It looks like next month will be the beginning of the Robert Griffin III era in Washington as the Redskins traded three first-round picks to the St. Louis Rams for the No. 2 pick in this years draft.
Washington gave the Rams their first- and second-round picks this year, plus first-round picks in 2013 and 2014. I
That is a huge price that the Redskins paid to move up four places, but they obviously feel that RG3 is their quarterback for the ten years. By making the move now, the ‘skins eliminates the risk of any other side putting together a better offer to the Rams and jumping ahead of them.
