NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has to be looking in the mirror wondering what he did to upset the football Gods. Hall of Fame wide Receiver Art Monk is the latest in a long line of retired players to join in another lawsuit against the league.
We have discussed ad nauseum what Goodell hasn’t done to help those in need who placed the NFL on the map. To make the NFL what it is today for him to become Commissioner with only one goal in mind, the 18 game season.

Hang on to your hats! The bell is ready to ring and Darrelle Revis is at it again. After a subpar year, Revis is going after the New York Jets for another new contract.
If you didn’t believe this before, you have to now. Revis is a man who over-values his talent, and will go to the ends of the earth to make you think he is the greatest cover corner ever in the NFL. That, my friends, is far from the truth.

Fun and games are continuing in the Big Apple with their secondary football team, the New York Jets. The headlines keep pouring out and it just keeps getting better and better.
The Jets should just change their name to the New York Controversy. There is never a calm day with the team. It’s always something. From Tim Tebow, to Mark Sanchez to Rex Ryan all the way up to the owner Woody Johnson. Let’s start with Johnson.
According to reports, Johnson wants his team back on the HBO hit show “Hard Knocks” and has agreed to do it, even starting negotiations. But his outspoken coach is against the project.

“I don’t know what the future holds, but I know who holds my future. That’s something that has always given me peace and comfort. That’s why I don’t have to worry about the future. I can just worry about today and worry about becoming better as a football player and a person.”
I don’t know if that’s an admission that he thinks he won’t be starting again, but, I think it could be considered slightly conciliatory. We also know that some of the Jets are very unhappy with the trade because they have Mark Sanchez’s back. Since that’s the case, I think Tebow’s response to angry tweets by his new Jet teammates is a very wise and nice one.

Mark Sanchez sort of has the right to be consulted on the Tim Tebow trade because he is not the sort of guy that is able to withstand lots of pressure. He’s not exactly the toughest guy we’ve ever seen. In fact, I would say that I know teenage girls that have thicker skin than Sanchez. Then, Rex Ryan comes out and says that Sanchez was not consulted about this trade EVEN THOUGH they were trading for a guy that plays his position AND that is more popular than him. That’s a real problem, no?
What did Rex have to say?

This doesn’t even have anything to do with the trade that sent him to the Jets. No, this is more about what he’s saying now that he’s there and the questions are flying. Remember, it’s a problem when your backup quarterback has a press conference to announce the trade that acquired him.
When Tebow says this:
“First and foremost, I’ve always said that I’m a football player first, and then a quarterback. But that’s always been my dream and what I’ve wanted to be is a quarterback. I’m excited to be a Jet and help this team in any way that I can in whatever my role is, and if I can expand that role, I’m going to try to do that.”

As of today the secret is out on who the New Orleans Saints want as their “replacement” coach for Sean Payton. It’s none other than Bill Parcells, Payton’s mentor. At first the name sounds a little far-fetched. But on second thought, it may not be so “out there.”
Parcells has been out of coaching since 2006. Yet he has stayed in the game as the President of the Miami Dolphins until last year, and then as a commentator on ESPN. Yet give me one person who has the intestinal fortitude to tell Parcells the game has passed him by.

I’m sorry, excuse me while I try to stop laughing hysterically. Jets owner Woody Johnson said:
“Let me be really clear about this, we work for the fans and the fans want us to win games. So all of the decisions we make regarding the team are just for football. It’s hard to predict other things. If you get confused in term of what your mission is, you’re not going to accomplish your mission. And our mission is to win games pure and simple. We think that Tim Tebow has been a winner all his life.”

The New York Jets acquired Tim Tebow from the Denver Broncos this week via trade, causing everybody with an opinion to come out and bash on Mark Sanchez, anointing Tim Tebow the future starting quarterback for the Jets. I am not a Mark Sanchez fan. I am of the belief that Sanchez did not have the potential to become a franchise quarterback coming out of USC in 2009, but was rather the next best quarterback available in the 2009 draft class behind Matthew Stafford.

No, not the Detroit Lions, but actual lions metaphorically speaking. Tim Tebow to the Jets is akin to throwing the Christian to the lions but it is a trade I get I on several levels.
