This doens’t look like Rutgers, Nebraska, or Missouri…
Missouri, Nebraska, Rutgers, and Notre Dame. Those are the schools that supposedly got invitations from the Big Ten to come on and join. Problem is, they say they aren’t ready to make a move for expansion yet–even though they are having President’s meetings right now.
Well, if they aren’t deciding then the invitations didn’t go out or they don’t know what they’re going to do. You see, if it were me, I’d be waiting on Notre Dame and begging in every possible way to get them to join. “What kind of houses and cars do we need to buy these people?” That’s what I’d be asking.
Plus, I think we all know that Rutgers doesn’t fit in in the Big Ten. Nebraska would NEVER leave the Big 8/12 (and if they did the whole state of Nebraska would fall into a gigantic sinkhole).
Missouri, Missouri doesn’t even really fit in in the big 8/12–and the only reason they sort of do is because they have a nice rivalry with Kansas–who finally decided to play good football–but otherwise they are just kind of there.
So, do you take Missouri and call it a day? Or do you wait it out for Notre Dame?
The other part that I think is funny is the assertion that the Big Ten is NOT deadset on a Championship Game. Well, if you aren’t gunning for a title game–then why are you reportedly sending out invitations and moving towards expansion?
Honestly, do these Presidents think we’re that stupid? Do they honestly believe that we have no brains in our heads? They must–because this is screaming expansion.
Plus, they would make money on a title game–the only thing they care about–so of course they’re looking for a title game and TV revenues.
Just wait it out for Notre Dame–if they don’t come then don’t do anything. Notre Dame will be in the Big Ten–eventually.
