A Few Petty NFL Notes

No, I’m not the petty one.  It’s the things that I saw that were particularly petty.  It’s just a sad world we live in when people are actually willing to go to the press or allow the press to get a hold of some of these sentiments.  We’ll start with a tale I’ve been on for a long time.

I always thought David Garrard was in trouble in Jacksonville, but now this little tidbit has me wondering what everybody’s problem is in Jacksonville.  David Garrard was cut because he had a bad practice.  That was the last straw–according to Jack Del Rio.  Then, he said:

“I don’t like the idea that the timing went down the way it did, but it did.  Ultimately as an organization we’ve got to make decisions when they’re not comfortable and make the best decision for the football team. I do believe we’ve done that.

I’m not comfortable with the fact that a practice was the last straw in the movement of your current franchise quarterback.  It’s just silly and childish.

Aaron Rodgers took a dig at Mark Sanchez for being on the cover of GQ.  I know Rodgers has made it so that he can kind of do whatever he wants, but this is childish and silly as well.  He said:

“I mean, look at this here.  That’s embarrassing. Page 94 of the GQ thing here. That’s terrible.”

Do we really need to be talking about this?  I know you might be kind of trying to mess with him, but I don’t remember ever playfully picking on someone in the media.  That’s just not the way that it works.  However, we know that football is back because we’ve got these things going on and we aren’t talking about a labor deal.

Let’s just calm down, boys.  Ok?
